48 Busia youth, women groups receive equipment to empower them economically

Forty two youth and women groups from Busia County have received equipment courtesy of the Affirmative action fund.

Busia Women representative Florence Mutua while presenting the equipment to the recipients in her office said the equipment will help the groups empower them economically.

Seven youth groups received pool table each with similar number benefitting from a set of 32 inch television and DSTV decorder each. Fourteen groups received carwash machines and 2000 litre-tank.

Eighteen women groups each received a Corn Sheller. Mutua said the groups received what they had applied for, adding that they will help the groups to be empowered economically.

” Although it is campaign time we are still serving wananchi until the eve of the elections on August 7th, ” Mutua said as she appealed to Busia residents to conduct the polls in a peaceful manner.

Michael Owinyo and Nicholas Odhiambo thanked Mutua for the kind gesture saying the pool table will help them in income generating activities.

Teso North youth chairman Ken Akwara said the TV and Dish decorder will help them generate income and keep them busy.
