Malaba Bus Park in Malaba border town, Teso North Sub County is now complete after months of rehabilitation.
The new facility is paved with cabro blocks giving it a fresh look contrasting previous dilapidated demeanour it was associated with.
The Sh 7.5 million project contracted to Shabsal Company Limited is awaiting handover.
Brief Project Scope:
Levelling of the ground, rock filling, blinding, hand packing, murram placement, dusting, construction of drainage system and laying of cabro paving blocks to ease movement of vehicles and people within the park and rehabilitation of the main shed.

- Urban Development and Physical Planning
The Directorates of Urban Development and Physical Planning have made numerous achievements in Projects implementation. The Projects are as follows;
Project Title: Construction of Receptacles
Description: The receptacles have been constructed in Busia and Malaba Towns
Project Status: Completed
Impact: Enable effective solid waste collection (management) in towns for efficient and faster collection that has improved the town environment.
Project Title: Parking Bay
Description: The bay is constructed near Huduma Centre
Project Status: Completed
Impact: To enhance the effective parking in Busia Town and enable revenue collection from the same.
Project Title: High Mast Lights
Description: The high mast Lights constructed within the Busia Municipality
Project Status: Some are Completed and others are near completion
Impact: To encourage 24-hour business operations and increase security within the Municipality.
Project Title: Solid Waste Collection Bins
Description: A total of 100 solid waste bins have been fixed within the Municipality
Project Status: Completed
Impact: Enable effective solid waste collection (management) in towns for efficient and faster collection that has improved the town environment.
Project Title: Road, walkways, Drainage and Storm Water Management System
Description: Constructed walkways within Busia Municipality in Busia Town
Project Status: Completed
Impact: Enhance effective and faster movement within Town that enables quick economic activities movement

The project is complete.
Number of beneficiaries:
The bus park will serve approximately 15 -20 Matatus at ago when full and over 100 traders.
Number of jobs created:
At least 500 jobs are expected to be created from the facility both direct and indirect.
Estimated Revenue collection:
With an improved business environment, the County Government of Busia is expected to collect an estimated monthly revenue collection of Sh 200,000 per month and Sh 2.4 million per year as disclosed by County Revenue Director Chris Illikor.
