The Anglican Church of Kenya Katakwa Diocese on Saturday bid farewell to one of the  founder members  Canon  Francis Devis Omekede, 78, who was laid to rest at Awata in Amagoro Division.

Bishop Emeritus Epus  the late Omekede used him as a messenger and guard  during  the county down to the awarding of the Diocese in 1991.

” The Bishop retired  urged Christians  to  think about their funerals and not who will bury them. ”  Think how you want your burial day to be,” he said.

The deceased  wife   Melisa Omekede  said  his husband  never beat him a single day for  the last 51 years of their marriage. ” I am thankful  that you  were an influence in my life and were an amazing  joyful person  that will forever  be in our hearts. Life may fade  but memories  never  die. Rest in peace,” she said.

Bishop John Okude revealed that members of the Synod  including the Canons, members and priests will meet  on October 13starting 10am  at the St John’s Cathedral Katakwa to chart the way forward for the  Diocese. ” Issues of  bringing tricks  in pastoral duties have no meaning
