Ours will be service delivery, Ojaamong pledges as he takes oath of office

Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong   has said  the team he will constitute will be that of service delivery adding that  there will be no room for joy riders in his administration.

In his key note address  after  being sworn in  by Justice Anthony Murima as the Governor  of Busia speaking  at the Busia  County Stadium on Monday,  the Governor promised to constitute a good team to foster  development in the County.

To signal his desire to boost the health sector in the County, Ojaamong said  his Government will from this month start paying   the over  3,000 Community Health Volunteers who have been offering services for free.

” There will be no need to  transfer patients to  County Referral Hospitals if such cases diseases can be controlled at sub county hospitals. The volunteers deserves motivation.

  ” I have  gotten a good crop of MPs.  We shall now  work together  to steer the county to greater heights. I will also endeavor to incorporate my opponents in my administration. They have enough expertise to help push the agenda of the county forward.  I will also work with Busia Senator Amos Wako to help build Busia by jointly sourcing for investors.

 I want to constitute a team to push the  County’s agenda forward, adding that everybody will be scrutinized. If you  fail in service delivery don’t blame me if you are left out.

He promised  to enhance  Sports  budget  so as to promote   sports that abound in the county. ” I will take sports seriously.  Busia has talents in various disciplines, thus the need to focus on the sector,” he said.

Ojaamong appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta and  Deputy  President  William Ruto to convene a meeting with  NASA co-principals Raila  Odinga and  Kalonzo Musyoka to stem political tension that is threatening to tear the country asunder.

Deputy Governor  Moses Mulomi  said Busia residents have lived in peace and  campaigned in peace. ” When we start work let’s work as a team to develop the county.”

Those who  attended the  swearing in ceremony included  Busia Women Representative Florence Mutua,  MPs John Bunyasi (Nambale), Oku Kaunya (Teso North), Geoffrey Omuse ( Teso South),  Joseph  Oyula (Butula), Geoffrey Odanga (Matayos), Dr Oundo Mudenyo (Funyula) and Raphael Wanjala.

Others included Tororo County South MP Fredric  Ang’ura and  Iteso Cultural Union Prime Minister  Paul Sande Emolot who represented  Iteso cultural leader Emormor Augustine Osuban.
