Preparations for the inauguration of Busia Governor-elect Sospeter Ojaamong and Deputy Governor-elect Moses Mulomi on Monday at the Busia County Stadium in Matayos Constituency are in top gear.
Matayos MP-elect Geoffrey Odanga visited the venue of the swearing-in ceremony on Sunday where he urged Busia County residents to turn up in large numbers and witness the colorful event.
” I am happy arrangements are in top gear with many leaders invited expected to grace the occasion. As the Governor is set for the swearing in ceremony, I am appealing to him to deliver a message of cohesion and peace to the people of Busia.
Opposition which was witnessed during the campaigns is now over with the only task left being the building of our county to achieve its set goals. ” It is my hope that the new cabinet to be named by the Governor will have the face of the county,” he said.
Odanga said “this is our government. As leaders we shall endeavor to work closely with the Governor in serving the people of Busia County. We don’t want to be isolated like before,” he said.
The MP-elect also thanked the the people of Matayos for voting him for a second term. “I also thank the people of Busia for electing NASA MPs including five from ODM and two from ANC.
They elected a Senator and Women representative from ODM and showed patriotism to NASA by making NASA dominated the County Assembly. They gave their statement that they wanted change of leadership in the country,” he said.
